After self-admittedly “hitting a wall, creatively” upon finishing her eponymous 2003 release, Martina McBride (Producer, Artist, Writer) recorded what she calls “a labor of love,” the platinum-selling Timeless.
A tribute to the country music she grew up with, the album gave her the space to not think about “what to do next” and just focus on making music simply for the joy of it. The result is Waking Up Laughing, her ninth studio release. Martina produced the record over an eight-month period—a timetable most artists aren’t afforded, she admits, and the luxury she enjoys most about having her own studio. “Anyway” is Martina’s fastest-rising single ever, and the rest of the album is just as strong, thanks to Martina’s undeniable talents as a producer and vocalist. Waking Up Laughing is an 11-song journey of love, loss, redemption and, ultimately, happiness. The self-produced album marks Martina’s evolution as an artist: from a small-town singer with a big voice to a country music icon who commands not only the stage but every facet of her career.

Rodney Carrington has built a cult following with his no-holds barred stand-up that includes comedy and music about the funny side of redneck lifestyles, women at bars, men acting like men and oddball sex. Terry Fator, ventriloquist, impersonator, singer, comedian, and winner of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” (2007), is perhaps the first entertainer to combine the art of ventriloquism with singing celebrity impressions. His puppets, including Cowboy Walter, Emma Taylor and Winston the Impersonating Turtle, effortlessly perform the singing styles of an eclectic group of stars including: Tony Bennett, Elvis, Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, Nat King and Natalie Cole, Roy Orbison, Etta James, Gnarls Barkley, James Blunt, Brooks & Dunn, Louis Armstrong and even Kermit The Frog.
